A few testimonies was opportune to the Ada Zone after the choir rendered “Hwi Hw3 Mi Mu” (Search through Me) as the anthem. The special song posed a command from the quartet singers to all present saying; “Whatsoever He Saith, Do it”.

Rev. Joseph Ansah was the Teacher for this service and the theme was “Restitution”.
He explained what the theme Restitution means as; the act of restoring anything to the rightful owner. In summary he taught all present that, though there will be obstacles when making restitution, it’s very necessary for us to do it for Gods blessings.

He cited his personal testimony to all present that immediately he got saved, sanctified and baptized, God made it clear to him to make restitution to all those he offended. He made reference to the Old Testament and in the time of Moses what one would have to do for restitution.

Leviticus 6:1-5 says;

  1. And the Lordspake unto Moses, saying,
  2. If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the Lord, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour;
  3. Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein:
  4. Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,
  5. Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.

Rev. Ansah further explained that Restitution is not only returning but also restoring damaged relationship with God. Before making restitution, you need to pray, seek council and go with the spirit of God. He gave another example where a brother prayed and was asked to make restitution in his school. He prayed but though he had fear he went. He met the bursar and narrated everything to him. He presented the things he took and to his amazement, the bursar called other people to come and bless him. That is what God can do.

According to the new testament, if you’re going to pray, apologize to those you’ve offended and forgive those who have offended you before going to God in prayer. That is the only way your prayer can be answered.  He also made reference to Mathew 5: 23-24 which says; “you have lied, defrauded, given false report, owing Bills and refused to pay, being dishonest in business”, God wants us all to restitute. If we have unfairly criticized somebody, we must try to make it right God helping us!

The teacher made every one present know emphatically with reference to Hebrews 12:14 that it is Gods’ command that we do restitution and we have to do it, and also that it gives us a clear conscience (ref: Acts 24:16; Hebrews 13:18; Proverbs 28:13) plus other rewards like Peace, righteousness, holiness, Peace with God, etc. These rewards after restitution is what every Christian must crave for daily.

God help and bless as you as you as you ask him to search your heart and make peace with your fellow men and Him.
