Abossey-Okai Sermon Excerpts 15-09-2019

The Abossey-Okai Branch held a testimony and thanksgiving service to thank God for a successful camp meeting, for the provisions God made during period, his divine protection and security, sound teachings and sermons that led to many people being blessed bountifully. We had the opportunity of Rev. John Aina and his wife joining us for the service and testified to the glory of God for their journey so far with the Lord. Sis. Marilyn Dennis also testified about how she trusts God to answer her every need and prayer by just asking in faith. She cited a lot of examples of prayers she said to God and received exact answers from God as she expected.

The branch pastor gave a short exhortation after the testimonies and admonished us keep trusting in God for our every need and blessings.

After the service Rev. John Aina met with all music students and choristers of the branch and encouraged them to put in their all in the learning process. He had an interaction with each and every music student present in the meeting. He and his wife took a couple of pictures with some of the church members.

Summary
The intention of God is for us to be saved and make heaven and not his will that anybody should perish. This means that, anyone who perishes is out of their own will. Going to heaven takes more than a wish. It requires making up our minds to make it there and putting in all efforts. The Bible is called holy because God, who is the author is holy and he lives in a holy place. We are filthy and have not met the requirements to go to heaven.

What God wants us to do is within our reach. It will take making us our minds either to do or not to do. God does not infringe on the power given to us but expects us to make the right choice which is choosing him.

When we believe God and make him our choice, he gives us the power over evil i.e. power to overcome sin. When we our lives to Christ, heaven and even the devil know you.  That power drives away evil spirit. A Christian is given the power to fight right against wrong. The power from God enables you to fight and win. The armour of God enables us to war the devil

Anyone who wants his/her Christian experience to be a success needs to pray always, exercise faith, make the bible his/her closest companion and intercede for others. When we allow God to work in our lives, we conquer everything. If the power to overcome sin is not in you, do something about it before it becomes too late. There is a way out of sin and God wants us to follow that way. If you make God your friend, you will never fall. He will back you up, support you and fight for you. If you will serve him, he will take care of you on earth and after life, he will give you a crown of glory when you make it to heaven.

Service ended with "Be watchful thou my soul" from the Collected Gospel Song Hymnal.
